2021 Mexican Gray Wolf Conservation Stamp Contest
More than 60 pieces of original art were submitted to the 2021 Mexican Wolf Conservation Stamp Contest, making the choice of this year’s winner harder than ever before. We want to thank everyone who participated in the contest and for helping us raise awareness about efforts to conserve the Mexican gray wolf.
The Mexican Wolf Stamp is sold to support Mexican gray wolf conservation and education programs. This year’s winner is Pia Langfeld!
More about Pia Langfeld:
Pia Langfeld received her B.A. in Visual Communications at UC San Diego, emphasizing in black and white photography. Conventional painting was always a hobby for her, but she did not pursue it seriously until the beginnings of smart phones and the emergence of the digital art world. She now divides her painting time equally between watercolor and digital painting. Having lived all over the world, she now resides in Colorado with her husband and two awesome descendants of wolves.
In addition to this year’s winner, we are also happy to present our inaugural Youth Honorable Mention Award to 16-year-old Hosanna Cruz! Congratulations, Hosanna!
More about Hosanna Cruz
Hosanna Cruz was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She homeschooled from kindergarten until the 9th grade. Hosanna has traveled to many countries including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. She currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attends La Cueva High School. Recently, Hosanna was accepted to Santa Fe School for the Arts. Hosanna is 16 years old and has loved to draw ever since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Hosanna’s favorite artists are Leonardo DaVinci and John James Audubon. You will often find Hosanna enjoying animals and exploring nature.
