San Juan Basin Badlands near Cuba, NM

The BLM has announced a proposed oil and gas lease sale west of Cuba, NM in an area known as the San Juan Basin Badlands. This special place is known for its petrified wood, fossils, and otherworldly geology and scenery, and has been identified by the Bureau of Land Management as having a unique and important assemblage of fossils. We invite you to join this outing to contribute to surveying and documenting these geologic and palaeontological values to help us advocate that this area is not drilled. Come join us for a day trip for some off-trail hiking and Field Maps documentation.
