Stewardship Day at the C.P. Anderson Overlook in the Gila

04Oct2025

From 9:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m

At C.P. Anderson Overlook

Join New Mexico Wild for a day of front-country volunteering at the C.P. Anderson Overlook in the Gila National Forest.

Last year, as part of the Gila Wilderness Centennial celebrations, this scenic viewpoint received a much-needed update, including improved trail access and the addition of a tile mural on the overlook wall. Now, we are ready to complete the project by replacing the faded educational signage with new panels that will help visitors learn about and appreciate the site for years to come.

Volunteers will focus on removing the old panels and installing the new ones. A free cookout lunch will be provided for all participants. Come lend a hand in stewarding your public lands and enjoy the incredible views while you work!
