Stewardship
Join our hands-on conservation efforts to protect and restore wild places through activities like trail maintenance, habitat restoration, and invasive species removal. Our stewardship volunteers help maintain the health and accessibility of New Mexico's wilderness areas. Held across the state, these events can span a few hours to several days.
Dave Foreman Wilderness Defenders
Wilderness Defenders are the eyes and ears of New Mexico's wild lands, conducting vital monitoring and data collection across the state's public lands. This program, named after our venerable co-founder, helps protect these precious areas by documenting conditions and identifying areas that need additional protection or maintenance.
