Event Information

Event Description

THE PLACE: Protecting a wildlife corridor that connects the Sandia and Sangre de Cristo Mountains is a grand vision.  This corridor exists because of the generally undeveloped nature of the landscape that connects these two mountains.  By participating in this project, you help set a tone that this is what we want for the future.  You boost efforts that are happening to prevent incompatible development in the corridor while looking to restore places that have been abused.  You set an example of educational efforts with local landowners on how to live with wildlife and enhance their habitat.

THE PROJECT: There are over 30 riparian and wildlife habitat projects already happening in the Galisteo region.  Working with the Galisteo Watershed Partnership (a project of Earth Works Institute), we are developing a volunteer project that will aid wildlife, restore the land, and involve the local communities.  This will be a Saturday-only project.

Meals: NMWA wild provide lunch.

Maximum participants: 40+

Contact: Craig Chapman at 505-843-8696 x1009, craig@nmwild.org for more info.
