Event Description

Located between the two “Peaks”, Latir Peaks Wilderness and Wheeler Peak Wilderness, the Columbine–Hondo Wilderness Study Area is larger than the Two Peaks Wilderness Areas but is comparable in terms of scenery and wilderness character. Columbine–Hondo has an extensive and well developed trail system, yet the area is relatively unknown to the public and is visited infrequently. It’s a perfect place to go for solitude and is an area of great interest to the conservation community. Join John Olivas on this fabulous hike overlooking the majestic Taos Valley.
