Summer Solstice at Chaco Canyon
June 18th – 21st, 2017
This 4-day hiking-intensive adventure will explore some of northwestern New Mexico’s most unique natural and cultural landscapes. We’ll hike the lava fields of El Malpais National Monument and the surreal badlands in the Bisti/De-na-zin Wilderness then finish the trip with two days at Chaco Culture National Historical Park during the Summer Solstice to see astroarcheology in action and enjoy Chaco's exceptionally dark night skies. We'll be joined by seasoned archeologist, Dr. Lisa Fontz, to help us navigate the special archeological aspects of Chaco and the Greater Chaco Region.

*Cost includes outifitter-guide services, camping gear and campsite fees, all meals and transportation round trip from Albuquerque and a one-year membership to the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance, valued at $50. Cancellations will be refunded if made 30 days or more before trip start. We reserve the right to cancel this trip at any time. Trips that are cancelled by NM Wild will recieve a full refund.
