HELP REHABILITATE THE YUCCA CANYON TRAIL IN CARLSBAD CAVERNS NATIONAL PARK!
Experience Carlsbad Caverns above ground while helping to improve recreational opportunities in Carlsbad Caverns National Park as we rehabilitate the Yucca Canyon Trail. The Yucca Canyon Trail is currently in need of brush cutting, tread and drainage work, and some step repair and construction. There will be tasks for many levels of skill and ability. Please Join Us!
About the Trail:
The Yucca Canyon Trail ascends Guadalupe Ridge from the surrounding Chihuahuan desert grasslands. From the top, far-reaching views extend across the Permian Basin. Fossils abound on this scenic canyon hike, hinting at the past life of this ancient rock formation - a barrier reef during the Permian Period.
