Date: Feb. 24 – Feb. 28, 2013
Place: Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel in Yellowstone National Park and Chico Hot Springs Resort
Trip Description: Join NM Wild and the expert guides from Wild Side Tours for three days and four nights in the stunning setting of Yellowstone National Park. Be our special guest for our most unique wilderness and wildlife viewing experience. We will spend the first days viewing the famous wolves of Lamar Valley—a spectacular opportunity for dramatic photography. We will leave Mammoth Lodge each day at first light to look for wolf packs as they hunt for prey in full view from the roadsides. February is also the ideal time to view elk, bighorn sheep, bison, otters, coyotes and raptors in the beauty of their winter range. After a hearty lunch, the group will enjoy an afternoon snowshoe on the groomed trails of the Northern Range—another excellent opportunity to photograph the unique winter landscape. On the third day, our expert guides will take us out for a day of snowshoeing while providing expert interpretation of the natural history of Yellowstone. We will also meet with wolf reintroduction biologists in the park and visit a renowned National Geographic photographer—all while enjoying great food, wine and deluxe eco-lodging at Mammoth Lodge. The trip will end at the Chico Hot Springs Resort where we will soak in the historic mineral pools surrounded by Paradise Valley. A dinner at Chico’s restaurant, recognized for bringing fine dining to the region, will be a memorable finish to an epic week in the wild! On the morning of Feb. 28, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Chico Lodge and then take a morning soak in the hot springs. Guests depart as necessary that day to meet their flights in Bozeman.
Meals: All meals are included for three days/four nights. Delicious breakfasts and dinners are provided as part of the package at the historic Mammoth Hotel and the gourmet restaurant at Chico Hot Springs.
