The Petaca Pinta Country is arguably one of the most remote wild areas in central New Mexico. We will hike in the Petaca Pinta, meandering through open grasslands and then into a massive drainage where geological wonders abound. We’ll climb through the volcanic terrain to a high point where we will all be afforded views of the beautifully colored Blue Water Mesa.
The hike will be 7 miles and will take approximately 4 hours.
