516 ARTS and New Mexico Wilderness Alliance present a joint fundraising event to celebrate the premiere of Guggenheim Fellow Michael Berman’s new book, Gila: Radical Visions, The Enduring Silence. His black and white photographs of the Gila Wilderness offer a wordless exploration into this complex and subtle landscape. Complementing the stunning photos, the book includes essays by Charles Bowden, Philip Connors, Martha S. Cooper, Dave Foreman, Alex Muñoz, Sharman Apt Russell, M. H. Salmon, Patrick Toomay and others, all inspired by the Gila Wilderness. Please join us on Saturday, February 2, for a reception, book signing, talk and silent auction, with a conversation featuring artist Michael Berman and acclaimed writers Dave Foreman, Jorge Garcia and Patrick Toomay. Catering will be provided by the Slate Street Cafe and a flamenco guitarist will provide music.
Check out the digital catalog of Michael Berman’s work. At the $250 level and size, there is only one print available of each image. At the $500 level and size, you can select any print, which will all be editioned, with a limited number of multiples available.
