Title: Communications Coordinator, New Mexico Wilderness Alliance
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Position Status: Full – time, salaried; Top candidates with part-time availability will also be considered

GOALS: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for refining and implementing a communications strategy to increase the public visibility of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance. The Communications Coordinator will work with staff to deliver coherent messaging across all campaigns. The coordinator will oversee all membership communications and technology including maintaining and updating the website, database and social media sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Implement communications plan, with special attention to NMWA’s brand.
•    Produce public outreach and campaign materials, including brochures, fact sheets and action alerts.
•    Solicit, create and co-edit content for on-line communications, e-news and membership mailings.
•    Maintain and update content of websites, including tracking and re-posting relevant media.
•    Maintain web-based advocacy center.
•    Develop and implement social media strategies including those that engage a younger audience.  
•    Update daily content on the organizational Facebook page.
•    Maintain online system for photo, video and podcast archives that are accessible for staff and media.
•    Maintaining system for tracking, organizing, and archiving news media and relevant news clippings.
•    Maintain membership database including communications status, email lists and queries and reports for all membership communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess at least two years of directly related work experience. Advanced degrees in relevant fields may count toward candidates’ work experience.

Successful candidates will bring the following skills and attributes to the position:

•    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
•    Proficiency in HTML and WordPress.
•    Experience maintaining web advocacy platforms and virtual hosting servers.
•    Proficiency in working with traditional and social media.
•    Experience in online fundraising
•    Proficiency maintaining databases and building queries and reports.  
•    Proficiency in graphic design software.
•    Positive, energetic outlook and commitment to public lands conservation.

SALARY

Pay range is $35,000 to $45,000 plus a generous benefits package, dependent on experience.
