Help us raise $20,000 by September 1

The New Mexico Wilderness Alliance needs to raise $20,000 by September 1. I’d like to take a moment to thank you for your generous support and share with you the many uses of your donations.

Your contributions transported us to meetings here and in Washington D.C. to ask our delegation directly for the protection of Otero Mesa. Your contributions also helped us to organize the blessing ceremony on Otero Mesa with the Mescalero Apache scheduled for this September. Other gifts helped us to create the new series of maps we developed for our expanded Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks Wilderness proposal. Your donations go toward flyovers of the proposed Pecos Wilderness expansion, where local staff members of Senator Bingaman and Udall see for themselves, from the air, the wild beauty and potential threats to this rugged jewel near Santa Fe.

Give now to help us continue our fight for New Mexico’s wild spaces.

Like everyone, we have seen our costs of operations go up dramatically. That is clearly the case when you cover a state as geographically large as New Mexico. In the coming months we will return to Washington D.C. to push our wilderness agenda. We will continue working directly with the highest levels of the Bureau of Land Management to create a new “Crown Jewels” statewide proposal, and continue building coalitions including the expanded Mexican wolf coalition. We could not do this without your support.

These are very difficult financial times for all working people—We cannot say thank you enough for your continued generosity. The work of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance is an investment in your future. Thus, we chose this fundraising occasion to highlight the children that will inherit our legacy.

Please donate now to help preserve New Mexico’s wilderness areas for future generations. Please give what you can today!
