Help Ensure a Wild Future For Our Children—A Message From Steve Capra

Our lands are our living legacy to our children. They will inherit the earth from us. Unlike generations of the past, we clearly know the damage we are causing our planet—from global climate change, to oil and gas development, to the decisions Congress has made that negatively affect wilderness and wildlife species such as the Mexican wolf.

New Mexico remains last among the 50 states in the amount of protected public lands. This is not the legacy we want to leave our children.

I am writing today to ask for your support as we kick off our fall fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $20,000 over the next two weeks. Your investment today will ensure that we leave a wild legacy for future generations.

Imagine a future with healthy and thriving wildlife populations such as the iconic

Mexican wolf and pristine public lands that are protected for our clean air and water. Together, we can make this hope a reality.

Let’s promise our children a wild future.

Take a few moments in the coming days and listen to the voices of our young people. These are children of some of our staff and members, and young wilderness advocates from around the state who care about the wildlands and wildlife species that make New Mexico so special.

Thank you as always for your continued generous support, and please give what you can today. Let’s do something positive today—not just for our children, but for the lands and wildlife we all care so deeply about.

Please give today to help us ensure a wild future for generations to come. Plus, the first 25 donations of $50 or more will receive a 2011 Wild Guide free!

For Wilderness,
