4 places left for rescheduled San Andres NWR Service Project: This Saturday

Only four openings left for the rescheduled San Andres NWR Service Project this Saturday, May 21!
Contact Nathan Small at nathansmall@nmwild.org to reserve your spot today!
After rescheduling, we have settled on Saturday, May 21st for this year’s San Andres Service Project!  This is a rare chance to see the wild San Andres Mountains. Please reply if you want to participate, as we will need your birth date and drivers license # so that you can enter White Sands Missile Range. Take advantage of a once a year opportunity, see you Saturday!
The Project: We will be doing wildlife habitat improvement through erosion control in a beautiful mountain valley high in the San Andres Mountains. Working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, we have taken 4 annual trips to the same site and are now able to see the results of our work when we return. Honest work on a warm spring day in one of the least visited mountain ranges in New Mexico–what could be better?

The Place: San Andres National Wildlife Refuge: If you have not taken advantage of this project in the past, you should. Because it is on White Sands Missile Range, it is generally closed to the public. It is hard describe how special the refuge is, but visit the website to learn about bighorn sheep and other unique wildlife that live on the refuge.
