NEO RIO 2010

NeoRio 2010: Art, Nature, Culture, and Community in Confluence

Join us for the second annual NeoRio, a unique event celebrating art, nature, culture, and community at the Wild Rivers Recreation Area in Questa, NM.

Hosted by the Bureau of Land Management’s Taos Field Office, NeoRio is organized by the new environmental arts initiative, LEAP (Land, Experience, and Art of Place), in collaboration with the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance and other cosponsors.

NeoRio made its debut in 2009, featuring Basia Irland’s project receding/reseeding, which involved an ice book launch on the Rio. The event also featured presentations, a potluck and campfire on the rim, and music with Justin Dean and Mark Dudrow. This year, artists and the public are invited to make camp and celebrate with a variety of arts events and community activities over the course of three days. Artists are invited to submit proposals for site-specific works.

For more information, or to submit a site-specific art project proposal, visit http://www.leapsite.org/ or contact Claire at clairabell22@hotmail.com.
