Valle Vidal Service Project – July 18-20, 2009

THE PLACE: The Valle Vidal is a place of unusual beauty, some say New Mexico’s Yellowstone. Clear flowing streams flowing through high mountain meadows. This a place that has abundant Wildlife,  New Mexico’s largest elk herd makes it home here as well as abundant Rio Grande cutthroat trout.

THE PROJECT: At the 2008 project, the Forest Service discussed many ideas for what the project will be in 2009.  This will get ironed out and we will let you know when you sign up.

On the Sunday of the 2008 project, Bill Zeedyk led a tour of the restoration structures that have been installed over the years.  Bill was the pioneer many of these techniques.  He was working for the Forest Service when they acquired the Valle Vidal (and help with the process) and has been leading the restoration efforts ever since.  His tour was educational and inspirational and we’ll see if he can give a repeat performance.
